From Four Children to a New Vision

Every journey has a beginning. Ours began in 2004 with just four children, when Excellent Convent School started as a Play School. Today, we proudly step into a new chapter with our 2026 accreditation by NIOS for the Open Basic Education (OBE) programme.

OBE brings a valuable focus on skill-based, practical learning—helping children develop confidence, creativity, independence and useful life skills alongside academics.

At Excellent Convent School, we believe these skills should be practised, not merely mentioned in books. Our students will experience hands-on learning in Stitching, Basic Cooking, and Art & Craft—an approach that remains rare in our area.

The added advantage? Students receive their official results through NIOS, with TCs issued as per NIOS norms.

And yes—no unnecessary burden of buying books. We want children to learn by doing, creating and experiencing.

From four children in 2004 to a new OBE journey in 2026—our vision remains simple: Education for Life, not just for Exams.

Understand the OBE

The Open Basic Education (OBE) programme by NIOS is structured into three progressive levels. Each level builds on the previous one, combining academic learning with practical and vocational skills.

Level A

Equivalent to Class III

Level A builds the child’s basic academic foundation through language, mathematics, environmental learning and age-appropriate practical skills.

Level B takes learning a step further, strengthening academic understanding while encouraging children to apply what they learn through practical activities and SBE.
